RD Rules and Regulations:
Almost, it has been now calculated that imports of those illegal phones (in the form of smuggling or any other way) in the local market cause about $1.5 billion in income damages to the government treasury annually. Over the last few years, the legal imports of the government treasury are dropped terribly because of this illegal mobile phone selling all over the country.
Now, all the illegal phones, smuggled or any kind of refurbished mobile phones that are using illegally into the country utilizing different ways will be blocked through the services of Device Identification, Registration and Blocking System (DIRBS) mechanism.
Regulatory Rates:
Currently, the FBR has announced new rates of regulatory charges on the import of new cell phone sets. The new rate of regulatory duty is turning in to now Rs250 each mobile set worth less than $60.
Though, the new rate of regulatory duty is now to convert into 10pc of the cost of the mobile phone if its cost amount between $60 and $130 each set. Also, as per each set of $130 or more than that, the duty will charge 20pc.

However, according to the sources, the new rates of regulatory duty for a second-hand mobile phone will be estimated while managing in the view its worth.
